Negracha & Diego
Negracha and Diego Lanau are Argentine Tango
dancers from Buenos Aires. They have performed
at many of the most popular milongas, been filmed
for the Solo Tango Channel and MTV, and won
numerous prizes. As ambassadors of the
traditional milonguero-style tango, they dance
with a close embrace.
Negracha and Diego are enthusiastic teachers.
Each of them has a deep understanding of both
the lead and the follow. They instill in their
students an understanding of every aspect of
Tango, from the basic walk to the fanciest of
ganchos. Each of their workshops focuses on a
single aspect of the dance, giving students an
opportunity to completely absorb several
variations of each movement. Starting with simple
walking steps, they gently encourage students to
progress to front and back ochos, boleos, giros,
and ganchos.
Their workshops also teach milonguero etiquette.
Students learn everything from how to invite a
woman to dance with a cabezeo to how to
navigate on a crowded dance floor. In their
classes, Negracha and Diego present the flavor
of genuine Buenos Aires milongas.
They are passionate about how a true milonguero
incorporates Tango into every aspect of his life.
They have spent many hours studying with the
old tangueros and count as thier most influential
teachers: Mingo Pugliese, Gustavo Naveira ,
Nito y Elba, Ezequiel Herrera, Pablo Veron,
Osvaldo Zotto, Nestor Ray, Ricardo Vidourt,
Graciela Gonzales, and Pupy Catello and
others.
Now they wish to share the thrill of the Argentine
Tango with students and audiences around the
world.
They on the third tour in USA: Has been on San Diego, Los Angeles, The Bay Area ( San Francisco), Seattle Tango Fest, Portland Tango Fest and Ohio University (Ohio State).
